It was M. King Hubbert who apparently started the “peak oil” discussion. Hubbert predicted the timing of the peak of United States’ oil production, as well as that it would peak, well before it actually happened. Maybe he was just lucky, or maybe he was on to something...

Dr. Hubbert was probably on to something... but was it The End of Civilization as We Know It? I really doubt it.  And I think this fellow is definitely over-reacting just a bit...
